Psalm 37
Psalm 37:5-8

Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,And your justice as the noonday.
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret – it only causes harm.

Recapping verses 5-8. I have been picturing all my "stuff"as round bundles – large round bundles that are hard to hold on to.  I picture myself literally rolling these things across my shoulders and onto the LORD’s large, very capable shoulders.

He said in Matt. 11:28 "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, And I will give you rest."(NIV) That was a promise from Jesus to us. The Message Bible puts it this way,
"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me.  Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it.Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly."

He wants to give us peace and rest, all we have to do is give "it" to Him and trust Him to do His part.

We can also know in verse 6 that God will take care of our reputation. If we are doing right and have a clear conscience we should not worry About what people think of us. That is hard because we all want to be Liked and respected. In His time it will all be worked out.

"Do not fret" is stated in verses 1, 7 & 8. I guess the LORD keeps reminding us not to get so upset because He know we will be continually tempted to look at what is going on in our physical world
and forget the He has something going on in our spiritual world. He has got it ‘going on’. He is in control. He allows some things to happen for His own reasons. Sometimes we find out those reasons, sometimes we don’t.

Our job is to continually trust Him.  II Tim 2:13 tells us even if we are faithless, He remains faithful.
