Psalm 37
Psalm 37:20

"But the wicked shall perish:
And the enemies of the LORD,
Like the splendor of the meadows,
shall vanish,
Into smoke they shall vanish away.

In many places it is the custom to burn off fields
after harvest.  Most Native Americans used this
method to control weeds, bugs, snakes and other dangers.
What was once a beautiful tract of land for growing
food and plants used for medicine would turn into a
barren land for a season.  The bounty would have
disappeared into smoke and ash.  The enemies of
noxious weeds, germ carrying pests and dangerous snakes
would also perish in the fire.

Just so the enemies of the LORD will be done away with.

May the LORD bless you real good!
